The grade I have chosen is 2nd grade. Standard 2: 'Problem solving and algorithms' under "Communication Systems and Computing" caught my eye. To me it is basically making sure the children can problem solve on their own and with technology, while being able to give a step-bye-step. It is also seeing that the child can define, create, and present algorithms. I would say I am prepared to implement these standards based on my current skill set. These are basic skills to have, skills that was taught at an early age, and i've had more years to perfect these skills over time. Which is why I believe I am more than prepared to implement them.

I chose 2nd grade English language arts to research. Resources are needed to teach any standard, but the resources used to teach this will definitely help the students to identify and explain similes, idioms, and alliteration. This is will most likely be a new skill for the children, which will make it hard to grasp. Using the lesson plan that is given as a resource is a way to help correctly identify idioms. The lesson plan calls for poetry, which is kind of a hard thing to grasp, so I would change that part but other than that it can be used. It is the only lesson plan given, but it can be useful nevertheless.

It is very important to be a proficient internet searcher. You have to show this information to students so you have to be sure you're showing the correct things. Also, time wise, it would take way less time to search correctly and use the advanced searching technique than to swift through things you don't need. I have already been introduced to a few of these skills, but I just learned the skill to keep certain information from coming up. So, I will start using that. No, there is not.
